However, things are not quite as they seem, as the man who loves the jungle so much isn’t being sent there with the intention of helping, but rather as a pawn…
Léon Rom (Christoph Waltz) is the man behind the plot, a Belgian Captain fuelled by greed and revenge; a mastermind who is not to be underestimated.
The Legend of Tarzan sees the man who has become John Clayton III, a gentrified adult, regress back to his animalistic roots when he is double-crossed and his homeland comes under serious threat.
The film casts Alexander Skarsgård (The Diary of a Teenage Girl) alongside Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad) as Tarzan and Jane, with support provided by the stalwart Samuel L. Jackson (The Hateful Eight) and Christoph Waltz (Spectre).
Directed by David Yates, The Legend of Tarzan is the latest blockbuster to feature the director’s name on the credits, having been at the helm for a series of films in the Harry Potter franchise, as well as 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
