the Saint visits homes to give gifts to good children.
He is accompanied by his dark counterpart Krampus,
who teases and punishes naughty boys and girls.
Krampus festivals or runs are popular throughout Europe and now in America
but have never been held in the UK,until last year with the first Whitby Krampus Run,
which was very well received (even by naughty children).
This year we are holding a bigger and better event
on the 3rd of December, starting on Tate Hill Beach,
Whitby starting at midday.
and an evening party at the Friendship Rowing Club
There is a Krampus art show at Trattles and Geall Fine Arts
on the 1st December, preview at 6.00pm
We will also be the site for the UK book launch of
Al Ridenour’s ‘The Krampus and the Old Dark Christmas’
(published by Feral House)
In addition there will be a number of Krampus figures wandering through the streets.
All funds raised will go to Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary.
Join the run as Krampus or any dark wintry folklore creature that inhabits your imagination.
