The Trolls live in a world that is built on a foundation of colour, sparkle and positivity. Their leader, Poppy (Anna Kendrick), has an infectious sense of optimism, and the whole community is quite happy to spend the days singing, dancing and having an all-around good time.
With one exception: Branch (Justin Timberlake) has a cynical outlook on life, and he does everything he can to keep away from the never-ending cheerfulness of his counterparts.
But the music suddenly comes to a halt when a Bergen invades and captures the entire clan of Trolls, leaving only Poppy and Branch in an eerily quiet landscape.
Together, the two unlikely partners must go on the journey of a lifetime to try and rescue their friends and family from a terrible demise.
With only Poppy’s excessive enthusiasm and Branch’s cautious wisdom as their weapons of choice, the two set off to free the Trolls and restore happiness to their home.
Led by directorial team who brought us the Shrek franchise (Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn), Trolls has a cast that’s loaded with comic talent, including Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) and Timberlake (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping).
It also borrows voices from Zooey Deschanel (New Girl), James Corden (The Late Late Show), Russel Brand (Despicable Me 2) and pop star Gwen Stefani (The Aviator).
