January 15, 2009, and the world watches what would quickly be dubbed ‘The Miracle on the Hudson’ unfold before their very eyes.
A US Airways jet with 155 passengers on-board has its engines struck-out by a flock of geese just minutes from take-off, forcing pilot Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger to act fast in order to steer the plane to safety.
A text book landing on the Hudson River ensues, with each person on board rescued and taken to safety.
Sully is labelled a hero and the media go into a frenzy, desperate to cover the incredible story that could have easily ended in yet another aviation tragedy.
However, his actions on the flight come under scrutiny and the subsequent investigation into the incident threatens to damage his reputation and career.
As one of the most celebrated actors of modern times, Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks (Forest Gump, Inferno) once again delivers a stunning performance as Sully in this enlightening drama.
Clint Eastwood is one of just a handful of legendary actors that has truly excelled as a director, with titles such as American Sniper (2014), Gran Torino (2008) and Million Dollar Baby (2004) under his belt.
Sully also stars Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad), Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) and Laura Linney (Nocturnal Animals).
