ONE of the region’s most successful youth orchestras is bringing the sounds of summer to Whitby Pavilion as part of its own ‘Tour de Yorkshire’.

Performing under the tutelage of Leo Solomon MBE, the Grimsby, Cleethorpes and District Youth Orchestra (GCDYO) is set to appear at a number of venues including the Pavilion date on July 27. 

Led by Leo, a mainstay of the local jazz scene for decades, and musical director Alex Green, the orchestra’s varied programme includes everything from old big band classics to new film scores.
