This year’s Whitby Beer Festival held in aid of Whitby & District Lion’s Club is being held from Thursday 25th July until Sunday 28th July at the Whitby Mission & Seafarers Centre, Haggersgate in Whitby. The festival has over 30 real beers and ciders to sample, which means there are no mass-produced beer here, only authentic, delicious, hand crafted, regionally produced Real Ales and Ciders.
All money raised from the festival helps to support the many local Whitby charities which Whitby Lion's donate to each year, we also give vital funds to the many personal good causes within the local area which in particularly find it hard to access and raise the funding required. As a club, we also run our Disability Scooter Scheme which hires out mobility scooters (free of charge) to anyone who has difficulty getting out and about. We also have an ongoing effort to raise awareness of diabetes through a number of different events throughout the year.
This year we will be celebrating our 10th beer festival, over the last ten years we have raised many thousands of pounds for local Whitby charities and good causes. Our 2018 festival was very successful, which we raised £5K for local charities.
The festival boasts more than 30 real ales and ciders, all available to sample (in ½ pint measures), giving you the perfect opportunity to experience and appreciate the wonderful variety of styles and flavours on offer.
Fresh, locally produced food will be available throughout the festival period and may provide a complimentary addition to your choice of beverage.
The festival is open for all to enjoy and in the past has attracted an excellent variety of visitors including families, holiday makers and real ale enthusiasts! Everyone is warmly welcomed to the event, though we do aim to encourage a responsible and relaxed atmosphere for all to enjoy.
On behalf of Whitby & District Lions, we thank you for your past and continued support of this local charity event and look forward whole heartedly to seeing you there!
